“The Voices of Nazaré are all connected to the ocean”, said one of the fishermen who was interviewed. Even though we didn’t realise it back then, that sentence would name this short film.

This (really) short documentary was created with the purpose of helping this little fishing village in Portugal speak for itself. Known worldwide for its giant waves, people usually regard it as just that: a surfing paradise, nothing else. By talking with the locals, the goal was to discover what else was there to be valued in Nazaré and how did the people feel about it.

As the film illustrates, people cherish their Nazaré roots very much and talk about each other with a sense of heartwarming joy.
